The IRS has deferred the filing deadlines for certain tax and information returns for nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations.  IRS Notice 2020-23 postpones to July 15, 2020 the initial due dates for most tax returns, forms, and tax payments with original due dates occurring on April 1, 2020 through July 14, 2020.  For exempt organizations, the deferred due date applies to the Form 990 series of returns including Forms 990, 990-N, 990-T, and 990-PF, as well as the tax payments associated with returns to which the deferred due date applies.

The deferred due date applies automatically — affected organizations are not required to take any action in order for the deferred due date to apply.
